Our Mission
Our mission is to share with you our passion for barbecue. None of what we have learned over the past 20 plus years is off-limits.

When the barbecue bug bit us, and it bit hard. We had nothing to draw from; we knew no one that knew or had even tasted authentic southern barbecue.

The Legacy of Barbecue
What option did we have but to set out to learn all we could learn about the history and how-tos of cooking real pit-cooked bbq. Unfortunately, Minnesota was not considered a hotbed for barbecue, something we would like to think we have helped to change since then. But at that time, the south was our best option to serve as our classroom.

Not defeated, we did it the old fashion way through trial and error and persistence. We fearlessly asked endless questions whenever we crossed paths with a true pitmaster, something we still do today.

A Hankering For Old School. Pit BBQ
Old school pitmasters keep their "secrets" close to their vest. Still, we were able to gather and connect nuggets of insight and inspiration. We often came away with seemly insignificant tips and tricks that kept us moving on our quest to make our best, old school, pit-cooked barbecue.

Assisting You to Make Your Best BBQ
We'll assist you in elevating your BBQ and grilling game with our grilling tips, recipes, and reviews. You, too, will be making your best barbecue, at the same time, preserving the old school ways of cooking.
